State Representative Morgan Meyer (R-Dallas) has a whole section of his campaign website dedicated to putting “kids first.” But his association with a fringe, anti-science special interest group is putting Texas children at risk.
Meyer has received an “A” grade, and an endorsement from Texans for Vaccine Choice, a dangerous fringe group responsible for pushing to weaken mandatory vaccinations for school-age children. Meyer’s reckless behavior is contributing to a growing anti-vaccine movement in Texas that coincides with a number of Texas cities becoming “hotspots” for preventable diseases.
The growing “anti-vaxxer” movement is out of step with the vast majority of Texans and their values. The Texas Lyceum poll reveals 78 percent of Texans believe healthy children “should be required to be vaccinated in order to attend public schools because of the potential risk for others when children are not vaccinated.”
As an elected official, Morgan Meyer has a responsibility to act in the best interest of Texas kids and families. If the people he is supposed to represent can’t trust him to do that, what can they trust him to do?
