Elon Musk published a poll on his social media platform X asking users if he should bring back Vine or not, most people answered “yes.” Is the billionaire really bringing back Vine?
The poll, published last month, had more than 2 million responses. 70% answered that Musk should bring back Vine, while 30% answered “no.”
According to Forbes, Musk proposed the idea of bringing back the app after buying Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022.
Vine was purchased by Twitter in 2013 and then shut down in 2017. The app allowed users to post six-second videos and was a popular social media platform at the time, but it has fallen behind since the launch of TikTok.
While it’s still unclear if Musk will try to bring the platform back, he has acted on the results of his polls before. In December 2022, he published a poll asking users if he should step down as Twitter’s CEO. Nearly 60% of users responded “yes,” and he announced his resignation.
Musk also published a poll asking users whether he should reinstate journalist accounts that had been suspended for allegedly posting his “assassination coordinates” via an account that tracked billionaires’ private jets.
