Texas Man Arrested Carrying AR-15 Outside of VP Kamala Harris’ DC Home

A day after a deadly shooting spree in Atlanta left eight dead, a majority of whom were women of Asian descent, a Texas man was arrested outside of Vice President Kamala Harris’ home in Washington D.C.

31-year-old veteran Paul Murray was arrested on Wednesday outside the U.S. Naval Observatory, the traditional home of the vice president, with an “AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, 113 rounds of unregistered ammunition, and five 30 round magazines” according to a police report.

Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff had not moved into their official residence as it was undergoing renovations.

According to an ABC News report, Murray’s mother called Capitol police after he made worrying statements and felt that the “government was after him.”

A statement issued by the Brazos County Sherriff’s Office shows that authorities in the Texas county had been following him “at the request of family members due to his behavior.”
