Megan Thee Stallion Launches Life-Saving Program for Houston Seniors After Beryl!

Megan Thee Stallion announced she is taking action to help Houston’s senior residents with generators for future storms or hurricanes, after Beryl left more than 2 million people without power.

As first reported by the Houston Chronicle, Megan, a Houston native is teaming up with Bread of Life, Inc. to launch the Emergency Power Program through her Pete and Thomas Foundation. This initiative aims to provide generators for senior citizens across Houston, ensuring they have access to electricity during future natural disasters.

When Beryl struck Houston last week, it caused widespread power outages that affected more than 2 million residents. The disaster claimed at least 18 lives, including sox from heat exposure dye to power loss, according to the Chronicle.

“It’s been painful to watch the elderly population in Houston suffer without electricity during these devastating storms,” Megan said in a statement. “That’s why we wanted to partner with Bread of Life to take a strategic approach to this problem and secure generators to help protect our senior citizens. We need to do our part to provide our elders with the best resources possible to withstand future emergencies.”

The Pete and Thomas Foundation, established in 2022, aims to support women, children, senior citizens, and other underserved communities, focusing on education, housing, health, and wellness. The foundation is named in honor of Megan’s parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete, Jr.
